Contradictory to most people's assumptions, especially my parents, I have been extremely busy!
It's harder work than I realized to call foreign agencies and represent both yourself and another company's goals in a way that makes them want to rent you a free room for a few nights!
I have encountered more skepticism than I imagined, and from agencies I least expected it. For example, my biggest battle both this week and last week has been trying to convince Honduran orphanages to let me and my aunt come visit on our site inspection trip... they all seem to be run by American families who have moved to Honduras and started their orphanages strongly connected to religious missions. Not one, but two people have hung up on after finding out that I am not a devoted member of the christian faith.
I have to go teach a spanish classs right now but I'll be back to post more later today, my stories do not end here.

Ok here comes some travel advice. I always pack my carry on luggage for the first few days of my trip. That is, don't assume that your checked luggage will arrive. and always factor in security you never know what homeland security will find "suspicious." Bring a pair of good broken-in shoes that you would feel comfortable walking a lot in. And because it actually rains everywhere else in the world bring an extra pair plus an pair of sandals or something for a break from foot claustrophobia. Shoes (and of course socks) are important!
As for everything else I like layering clothes. It saves space for packing and allows you to make confusing fashion statements.
Hang in there, Emily! I know that it can rough, but you're doing a great job!
P.S. Maybe telling them that you're "aka the Bomb" will help you get you some respect.
:)
